Sunnyside Surfboards was crafted and designed in 2022, as you've probably noticed I say we or us a lot when explaining the boards and designs behind the brand but being completely honest it's just a one man band. The "us" and "we" are my friends and all the amazing people and community around me that give me the motivation and ideas for the stuff I give you! In 2022, I was about half way through my senior year of high school here in Encinitas attending San Dieguito Academy and I shaped my first board and instantly fell in love with the craft and design process of it. I always enjoyed making art and painting and designing since I was a kid and I felt like the craft of surfboard building was so many of these amazing things put together!

Building surfboards here in Leucadia, California is such a special experience and has allowed me to have so many amazing experiences because of the amazing community that surrounds me. While I shape and design all my own boards and will glass them here and there, I usually get my boards glassed by the amazing Mike Hurrin at Color Wheel Glassing in Oceanside! He works on hundreds of boards a week such as the infamous Gerry Lopez Lightning Bolt boards, Wegener Boards, Pat Rawson boards, Jim Phillips and so many amazing craftsman so I could not do it without him or his team. I've spent many months and years now locking in designs and dimensions for custom and stock shapes and I'm really proud to have come up with each design and be able to work with amazing people to make amazing boards for you.

Overall, I've been so lucky to have been surrounded by an amazing community of people down here in Southern California. I'm also excited to announce that we will be "moving" up to San Luis Obispo county to continue my study of Art & Design and will be working on the business there!
